Description of Cyber IA & ML program

The program is a dual-phased program consisting of Phase I and Phase II
Phase I (Mentoring) is from February 2023 – April 2023
Phase II (Internship) takes place between May 2023 and August 2023
Evaluation Criteria
Cyber interns will be selected based upon academic achievement, resume', recommendation, and career & research interests.
Award duration and stipend
Selected undergraduate students will receive $8,500 in total for the work completed.
Selected graduate school students will receive $9,500 in total for the work completed.
Stipends will be paid in bi-weekly payments during the ten (10) weeks of Phase II (Internship) of the program.
Students will receive a housing and travel allowance, if necessary, for in-person assignments only. The allowances will be based on the laboratory location.
Eligibility
- Must be U.S. Citizens
- Must be enrolled full-time at an accredited HBCU/MI
- Must be a sophomore, junior, senior, or a graduate school student at an accredited HBCU/MI
- Must have relevant majors in the research interests of the laboratories: computer science, computer engineering, or another cyber-related field, including data science

November 30, 2022, at 11:59pm ET is the deadline to apply.
Award Announcements
Awardees, as well as non-awardees, will be notified once all the selections are complete.
Start Dates
Phase I (Mentoring) Start Date: February 11, 2023
Phase II (Internship) Start Dates: May 22, 2023 or June 12, 2023 depending on the assigned laboratory.
